Lawmakers on Beacon Hill this year have debated an increase in the state's minimum hourly wage – already above the national minimum – from $8. While that has met resistance from business groups, House Speaker Robert DeLeo said recently that he may want to tie any hike in the minimum wage to reforms to unemployment insurance paid by businesses, creating a “win win” for both workers and employers.
