The Worcester City Council has delayed final approval of the proposed agreement to sell the former county courthouse at Lincoln Square to a New Hampshire developer while a group of community and labor advocates presses the city to place demands on the developer, Brady Sullivan Properties. Those demands reportedly include a diversified construction workforce and a mandate that half of that workforce come from Worcester. The demands have met with opposition from the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce, which on Monday emailed its members, urging them to lobby councilors to approve the deal. Should they? Or should they accede to at least some of the wishes of the coalition? Please vote and comment.
