Dorchester culinary training and staffing company Snapchef announced Tuesday its plans for a new training facility in Worcester.

The space, located at 42 Southbridge St., will become a full-sized commercial training kitchen featuring new equipment to teach up to 10 chefs at a time, the company said.

With the expansion, the company will reach the 100 job milestone in the Worcester location alone, CEO Todd Snopkowski said in the statement.

"Thanks to the vibrant business climate and talented workforce of the Worcester region, we look forward to the future," Snopkowski said.

The company also has plans to launch a new apprenticeship program in Worcester, which will train and hire locals for careers in the culinary industry.

The proposed new facility is just one door down from the company's current location at 44 Southbridge St. since 2015. The expanded facility will boast audio and visual capabilities and computer workstations, projectors, and several prep tables.
